Technology Support Technician

Barton College is seeking a Technology Support Technician who will focus on managing the help desk while overseeing the technology services trouble ticket system and providing support to employees and students. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Monitor and troubleshoot all technology support tickets.
  • Setup, upgrade and maintain PC’s for all employees and computer labs.
  • Schedule and setup A/V requests for meetings across campus.
  • Assist students with technology issues.
  • Help with user management in active directory and OneLogin. 
  • Troubleshoot printer and multifunction device issues.
  • Investigate software and hardware issues for staff, faculty and students.

Desired Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other computer related degree with some level of experience with hardware and software.  
  • Must be proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Windows Server and Mac OS are necessary.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required with ability to effectively interact and communicate with all employees within the organization. 
  • Proven track record of reliability, responsibility and integrity.  
  • Strong problem solving skills. 
  • Must be able to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to work independent of direct supervision.   
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and ability to be detail-oriented.
