Members of the Barton College Community,
As a result of increased weather activity from the approach of Tropical Storm Debby, Barton College offices will be closed on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Essential personnel will still report to campus as needed.
A tornado watch and flood watches have been issued for a significant portion of the day ahead. And, tornado warnings may occur off and on throughout the morning. Please stay tuned to the news and weather reports to stay informed.
Should there be a tornado warning, all employees and students on campus should move to the lower level of your buildings and remain in an interior room or hallway until the warning has passed.
The College will continue to monitor the storm’s progress and share updates with the campus community as needed.
If you are traveling, please use extreme caution and good judgment.
