Adjunct Faculty to Teach Business Courses in Adult Education Program
DEPARTMENT: School of Business
DESCRIPTION:
Beginning in the fall of 2010, Barton College is expanding course offerings for adult students pursuing a major in Business Management and related fields. In order to meet the anticipated needs for faculty positions, qualified candidates able to teach Advanced Microcomputer Applications, Economics, Advanced Finance, Principles of Management, Business Statistics, and Legal Issues in Management are encouraged to apply.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Master's degree or higher in Business, Management, Finance, Economics, Computer Studies, or related fields
• Minimum of 18 semester hours of graduate courses in the specialization indicated by the course prefix
• Teaching experience
• Experience working with adult learners

Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing

DESCRIPTION:
Barton College seeks candidates for a full-time (nine-month appointment) assistant/associate professor in baccalaureate nursing, starting August 2010.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Master's degree in nursing (doctorate preferred)

Controller
DEPARTMENT: Office of Business Affairs
DESCRIPTION:
Barton College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Controller.
DUTIES:
• Reporting to the Vice President for Administration and Finance
• Maintaining the general ledger
• Timely recording and reporting of all financial transactions
• Providing supervision to the following functional areas: student accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Administering fixed assets and restricted, endowment, and agency funds
• Assisting the Vice President for Administration and Finance in the annual budget preparation process
• Implementing and maintaining internal control systems as well as coordinating monthly and year-end financial closing and coordinating external audits
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required with at least five years supervisory experience in a higher education setting and CPA preferred
• Thorough knowledge of fund accounting and a working knowledge of federal guidelines applicable to the higher education environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
