Summer Orientation
Get to know other incoming students, meet with your advisor, get your placement tests out of the way, and register for classes -- all before classes even start. Our two-day summer orientation eliminates the stress that comes with getting settled and starting classes in the fall. This way, you can have everything in place when you move in. While you're here, you can also:
- Take care of your account with the Business Office.
- Get your student ID.
- Select a meal plan.
- Submit your health history.
- Choose your medical insurance.
- Set up your e-mail account and get your post office box.
Parents' Program
Summer Orientation also includes a program where parents can meet with personnel from Student Affairs, Financial Aid, and the Business Office. It's also the perfect time for parents to talk with their student's faculty advisor.
Accommodations
Students stay in the residence halls. Parents are also invited to stay on campus in East Campus Suites, our newest residential facility, or they can choose to stay one of the local hotels.
First-Year Seminar
If you haven't already received it, information on our First-Year Seminar (FYS) will be arriving in the mail soon. This is your opportunity to select your FYS Advisor -- simply review the course descriptions and faculty profiles, and choose the one that interests you most. To be sure you get the faculty member of your choice, reply quickly.
